Avani Institute of Design in Thamarassery has been conceived to be sustainable in all aspects. The campus is built along the natural contours of the site, with footing at visible depth, reducing cutting and filling.

The entire campus responds to the existing greenery of the site through vertical green walls, which provide natural ventilation and light. Landscaping has been done with local species of trees and plants. Together with the use of locally sourced compressed earth blocks, and minimized use of plaster, sand, and concrete, Avani is a sustainable campus that embraces its natural surroundings.
